Bella sat alone at the lake's edge, skipping rocks across the water. A thick fog was cast over the grounds, so the rocks dissappeared into the white before she could see them drop into the lake. The air was still and the grounds were silent accept for the soft cooing of a dove in the distance.
Bella pushed the straying strands of thick, black hair out of her face as she threw another rock. She wished she had not chosen to leave the common room, and condemned the fact that she could not sleep that night, and that she hadn't met anyone along the way to come along. She had not spoken to Vinay or Tabris or anyone for that matter in so long, and it seemed for now that she was slowly building a wall between herself and the rest of the world. A wall, nonetheless, that she seemed to dwell upon, but never thought to tear it down.
What does it matter, she thought, throwing another rock off into the mist, I'm alone anyway...
Amos walked along the lake, his hands in the pocket on his black hoodie, and a deep scowel upon his face.
Lately, he'd been feeling a bit lost, and out of place, and it was starting to affect his every day life. He now wore a lot more black, and kept his hair completely black, insted of letting his natural blonde hair peak out.
He sat down next to Bella, but didn't say anything, simply watched as the pebbles she was throwing skip across the surface of the lake.
Bella glanced to the side when she heard something fall down next to her. A boy was sitting there, draped in black, someone seemingly familiar. "You look different, Amos," Bella said flatly, gazing out into the misty lake, skipping another rock.
"Do I?" Amos replied softly, and looking rather tired. He ran his black nailed hands through his dark hair, and shook his head.
